This is the second episode in our series on Building a Strong Private Practice. Welcome!
Today I wanted to talk about the top five things I think you need when setting up a new office. These apply pretty well no matter what kind of business you have in health and wellness. Massage, Physiotherapy, Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Nutrition Consulting… you get the idea.
Now, let’s be real here: the way I wrote this episode before COVID is VERY different from what I’ve recorded now.
Originally this episode was going to be about setting up an office that is appealing to clients and functional for you. I emphasize this because a lot of people tend to approach setting up their office the same way they decorate an apartment or house. That is to say, they think about what they like and their budget and go to town. But just because you like avant-garde art or, I don’t know, bright pink walls, doesn’t mean your business should have those.
But that said…. COVID has changed a lot of things for the vast majority of businesses, especially in the health and wellness space. Regulations in most areas limit what you’re allowed to have in your office. If you don’t have a regulatory body, similar rules are just the smart thing to do when we’re in a pandemic (right?).
But even with ultra-minimalist spaces right now, you still need to set up an office to be nice for clients and functional for you!
So let’s talk about those five things, shall we?
