I’ve called this episode “marketing truth bombs part deux – unless you’re famous, they aren’t just gonna come to you”. That’s because it’s extremely true.
In a world of spending so much time online and on social media, we tend to get into a habit of just putting up content and hoping that somehow, someway, people will find us.
I think part of the reason this happens is because we don’t really understand that marketing is a two-way conversation… there has to be a response from the customer or client.
But part of that is because, in a world of computer screens and phones and all that jazz, we get a little lazy.
Now, let me be super clear here: I’m not saying that all the hours of work you might have done on your social media feed or website or any of that makes you lazy. Not at all. You might be working super hard!
But the question you need to ask is: are you getting the results you were hoping for?
If you are, great! Obviously, you are doing something right, and that’s awesome!
